“Smart Start”

I wrote, directed, and produced this commercial for Salt Lake Community College as part of their new "Smart Start" campaign. The focus was on showing how a student could achieve their career goals through SLCC. After concepting and pitching several ideas, we landed on a concept that plays out entirely in reverse.

Shooting in reverse meant every shot had to be planned for how it would read backwards. I leaned into movement with both the camera and action to make the effect feel intentional.

The other challenge was the production centerpiece: a food truck. We solved this by hiring a working donut truck and building a fictional brand over their existing one, which also doubled as catering for the extras on set.
